We met this friendly funny Stingray at the Long Beach Aquarium last weekend. He came right up to the glass to say “hi” to my little boy, Bexon.
I named him Ray.
Ray was totally amazing looking. What an experience for a child to see close up.
They’re related to the shark family and their stingers are used exclusively in self-defense.
Yes, they are the same kind of fish that killed Crocodile Hunter Steve Irwin years back, but that was a freak incident and extremely rare.
Stingray Ray had a cheesy sense of humor, but you often find that when you hang out in the ocean.
They don’t have cows or cheese down there, or even goat milk, so it’s difficult to explain dairy to them.
Have you seen pictures of Stingray babies? They’re wicked adorable.
Watch this Dancing Baby Stingrays video and you will never look at these sea creatures the same way again.
They wiggle their little “feet” to the music! The length is only about a minute and a half, it’s soothing, delightful and mesmerizing:
Love,
~ H
